Can someone explain about insoles, heel grips, gel pads etc?

I have a pair of shoes that are quite wide but the size smaller was too small. When i walk my heel slips out of the back a little. I’ve tried a FULL insole but it didn’t help much.

Can anyone explain what insole, heel grip i should use? I am confused about whether I should use a back heel grip or an insole at the front of my foot (balls of my foot)
